Right, had some zoas via FB and when I opened the pot the smell was probably the worst smell ever, inside was a dead tubeworm, so I am taking a guess here that that was the smell, the zoas are still closed, no sign of melting and no sign of any disease that I could see,ie no white spots/bumps indicating poss pox, would you think that these are ok in the tank? they were double dipped for an hour before entering my tank.

Your thoughts would be very much appreciated.

If the water smells chances are they won't make it. Did the seller ship with a heat pack?

yes, although there was newspaper and bubblewrap between the container and the pack.

That's the problem, they cooked the Zoas, no heat packs in this weather.
That is a tell tale sign of cooking when the water smells,
The polyp will go very pale then melt away into nothing now.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I would contact the seller and tell them your problem.

They still stank after 5 days, didn't look like they were going to open at all. was not going to take any risks so I kept them quarantined just in case they had something. needless to say I took the decision to bin them.
