Needless to say I let him have all 4 half price for £20 also threw in some rock leg crabs to control his algae problem and a hand full of brittle star fish as he loved them.
Don't mind loosing out on a bit of cash just to see a young lad who is in love with reef keeping.

As we have seen in another thread Gazc31 has had a full tank wipe out
We at Zoa swap have always prided our selfs on a great family spirit So have a look in your frag racks to see if you have something spare that can help gaz back in his feet
I will start the ball rolling with a Rasta and a Armageddon

I think it's bad that this very friendly forum has turned into this
Is it all just MONEY now lads where's the love of the hobby gone
I used to log on for a great laugh and some good banter now it's all bloody sales
THIS FORUM IS CALLED ZOA SWAP

Guys, I am tired of people taking advantage of the auctions and bumping them to the top.
Anyone that bumps an auction again will have them deleted regardless of bids.
Bumping spams up the forum and is unfair to the other people running auctions.

You know the only reason I joined this site ....was the " a little help bit of help" thread by djnash
Where our ole chum....lost all his zoas ...and loads of members chipped in to help his collection by sending freebies...
I've had a tank crash...I've lost loads myself...and ive been helped out......so yeah ive helped...and I still do
I even pay the postage....yeah you do get piss takers...but that's life
But on here I have found a small group that I will always help out.....money don't mean much to me......it's all about the love
And paying forward.............spread the word!!
Oh ...and we have the odd laugh....and wind up Mo in the process......bonus....ha ha!!

I have recently noticed a disturbing trend with some members jumping into swap threads, and derailing them with solicitations to buy the zoa.
This is not acceptable. It shows lack of respect to the person trying to swap and goes against the entire foundation that we built Zoa SWAP on.
Anyone soliciting or trying to organise sales in a swap thread will have their post deleted - There will be no exceptions
It is as simple as that.

With almost a thousand members the last 2 years have been a blast on the forum. We have met some real characters so this thread is dedicated to members and things I have read........

So here was the plan
2 x 300 mm heatsinks hanging over the tank, to give me left and right control......seems simple enough!!
But then like all good plans......it changed !!
A chum from UR told me about a old led diy build up for sale on UR....it came with 80% of the bits I need....and after a bit of haggling ....I got it at a steal.
So one dodgy meeting at Victoria station later....I returned with this
A 900mm heatsink with different cree leds glued on in clusters, 350w PSU , spare leds, some mean well LDDs ,arduino touch screen controller....and the icing on the cake for me ...a brand new coralux stormX controller......which if you didn't know, gives you 16 channels of play time!!
So after testing the leds on the heatsink.....I came up with a plan!!
I'm going to take the cool whites and royal blues from each cluster and give them their own channels...as the stormX controller has a cloud setting, so the plan is clouds drifting across the tank.
Also having the CW and RB like this , gives me control over the whole tank ....meaning I can make any part of the tank lighter or darker
My planned channels
1 Royal Blue ( RB). )
2 Cool White (CW). ) cloud 1
3 RB )
4 CW ) cloud 2
5 RB. )
6 CW. ) cloud 3
7 RB )
8 CW ) cloud 4
9 RB. )
10 CW. ) cloud 5
11 Natural White
13 Cool Blue
14 Hyper Violet
15 Red (for sunrise/ sunset)
16 Blue ( moon lights)
So after adding more leds and 14m of stranded 22awg wire later.....I did this , and then started to tidy it all up with white acrylic ( promazine idea UR)
Next cut out for the fans......DONT USE a adjustable hole cutter.....if you ain't got a 120mm hole saw ....do it the hard way......loads of little holes...lol
Now the fun part sorting out the controller!!
After ordering 16 LDDs and 3 pcb to hold them....I got to work....
Ta daa!!........I'm not overly pleased with the box housing I made for the controller....so it will change at a later date....
Here are the lights on by each channel
There is no need to comment on this ........this is more a reference .....for me to look back at !!

From what I can understand certain sellers want to keep zoa prices high. Let's hope they fail.
I totally understand when you first import a rare zoa, but once you have grown one and recouped the cost what's the excuse then? £200 PP is unjustifiable

This fella was bought for the specific purpose of helping to reduce the amount of algae in the tank. I checked on it before and it's grazing away like mad so happy at the moment
