For those of you that dont Know there is a challenge going around called the "ALS ice bucket challenge"for macmillan cancer support.

Get involved in the perfect summer fundraising challenge that's sweeping across social media. #IceBucketChallenge a friend and raise money to help people affected by cancer.
How does it work?
It's simple. Just challenge someone via Facebook or Twitter to have a bucket of ice-cold water poured over their head in exchange for a text donation to Macmillan. Film it, share it, and then sit back and watch the nomination process take over. Take a peek at some of our favourites to get an idea.

Sounds brilliant. What do I need?
A bucket
Ice
A smartphone
A towel
A change of clothes (highly recommended)
Immense bravery
Right. Got all that. What do I do now?
1. Fill the bucket with iced water
2. Pour it on your head
3. Film this on your smartphone
4. Post the video to Facebook / Twitter
5. Text to Donate £3 to Macmillan by sending ICE to 70550
6. Nominate your friends / enemies to do it next
Make sure you include this all important line when posting on social media:

I nominate XXX to take part in the #IceBucketChallenge in the next 48 hours and text ICE to 70550 to give £3 to Macmillan. (*Wimp out and text FINE to 70550 to give £10 instead).

so today I was nominated so I thought why not bring it onto zoa swap by starting of with no other than.................

Jason YOU HAVE 48 HOURS TO COMPLETE...

lets keep it going and dont forget to nominate at least one member from here...

p.s it was bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooody cold and the ice cubes were bouncing of my head.

The ALS challenge is for ALS, which is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis  = which is Lou Gehrig's Disease. It's what we call Motor Neurone Disease, which is what Steven Hawkings has got.

When did Macmillan start doing it, not a criticism, just didn't know?

They didn't, although mcmillan is a uk based charity. I saw this argument on FB the otherday, if you google it apparently cancer charitys were doing this and als adopted it. I think the most important thing is its going to A Charity. My friend died of leukemia and everyone I know are donating to that leukemia research.

That's cool, it's definitely done massive things for fund raising around the world, largely from celebrities getting involved i'm sure.

Be awesome if some of the other fundraisers we have get as much attention, like Movember for mens health and the MoonWalk for breast cancer.

Like him or not, the ALS challenge was done right by Charlie Sheen
